Under Sandberg’s direction, Facebook has begun preaching the mantra of what it calls “social design” to companies that want to remake themselves for the fashionable age of social media. It sets up Facebook brilliantly—those social ads may someday start showing up on any site that has a “like” button.
I guess it’s official now since it is an official “mantra” at Facebook but I’ve been practicing Social Design with my clients since 2008.
